The Moonlight Run is going virtual again for 2021! Registration for the virtual Moonlight Run will be starting in mid-December and the event will run from March 20 to 28.
This year's event will include our traditional distances of 6 km and 10 km and with the virtual format and in celebration of the Moon we will be adding two additional events for this year representing 0.01% of the distance to the Moon (384,400 km) or to the Moon and back (768,800 km). Participants in the 38.44 km or 76.88 km events will be able to accumulate mileage over the nine days to count towards their total.
Pricing for this year's event is as follows:
- $25.00 Adult Entry (16+)
- $12.00 Youth Entry (15 & under)
- Add $15.00 for Adult Sweatshirt
- Add $10.00 for Youth Long-sleeved T-shirt
- Add $15.00 for Shipping (Shirt & Medal)
- Add $5.00 for Shipping (Medal Only)
Shirts and Medals will be available for pick up at race package pick up. If you live out of town you can have someone you know pick up your shirt or medal. Shipping prices are for those participants who are unable to pick up their shirt or medal in person. While all participants will receive finisher medals, due to higher than expected registration numbers, only the first 500 registered participants will receive them at package pick up or through the mail prior to March 20. We apologize to those who would like their medals sooner and promise to begin distributing them as soon as they are received.

Entry Deadline
With the virtual format this year we will not have an entry limit.
The deadline to order a shirt is March 7, 2021.
For those who are hoping to have their medal or shirt shipped to them by March 20 the registration deadline is February 15, 2021.
Race Package Pickup at Runner's Soul
Package Pickup will be held at Parkside Mall by Runner's Soul (2646 South Parkside Drive):
- Wednesday March 17, 2021 from 12:00 - 5:00 PM.
- Thursday March 18, 2021 from 12:00 - 5:00 PM.
- Friday March 19, 2021 from 12:00 - 7:00 PM.
A friend can pick up your race package for you.
Course Information
While you can run a virtual race anywhere, for those participants living nearby who would like to run the in-person Moonlight Run route the maps for both the 6 k and 10 k are available here.
Awards and Results
Finisher medals will be provided to all Moonlight Run participants. Due to higher than expected registration numbers, only the first 500 registered participants will receive their medal at package pick up or through the mail prior to March 20.
There will not be additional awards for top age group finishers.

Changes and Refunds
Changes to your selected distance will only be allowed up to March 16, 2021, and must be emailed to randy@racepro.ca. Once the event has started, participants will be able to make changes to their distance from the dashboard where they post their times.
We apologize for the inconvenience but no refunds will be issued. Entries may be transferred but the race committee must be notified at randy@racepro.ca.
Charities
The Moonlight Run has donated over $290,000 to local charities through funds raised during past events. This year's charity will be the South Alberta Walk for Dog Guides, a charity that trains service dogs for disabled individuals who qualify for a service dog.
