ABOUT: Now in its 3rd year, the #FernieStreak is back. And this year more than ever, this fun, supportive nudge to get outside and get active, is just what is needed.
To cater to the slight change in the norm, the #FernieStreak is taking a slight change in direction. Online registration and daily tracking – with the ability to sign up the entire family, including kids dogs too; the addition of downhill skiing; the push for safe COVID-safe adventuring; and the goal to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
HOW TO STREAK: The #FernieStreak is simple. Ski (Nordic or Downhill), Snowboard, Bike, Run, Hike, Skate, Shovel (or whatever you like!) outside, on your own steam, for a minimum of 30 minutes, on 31 consecutive days - with the goal being the entire month of January.
REGISTER & DONATE ONLINE: Registration has moved online. A perfect way to see just how many people are taking part and a way of bringing the amazing streak'in community together.
This year the #FernieStreak is a fundraising initiative for the 2020 Starlite Campaign - Not Alone, raising money for the Foundry East Kootenay - who has the lofty goal of raising $1.4m to support the opening of Foundry East Kootenay, to support youth mental health in the area.
The $10 registration fee for Adults (Kids + Dogs are free!) will be donated. Plus there's an opportunity at registration to donate additional funds to this amazing campaign, so let's see how much we can raise!
TRACK: This year, everyone registered can track their daily activity online - the link to the tracking sheet will be shared on January 1st. The #FernieStreak Calendar will also be back in the January Fix to both help plan your month and offer some tips on how to streak to success - both mentally and physically.
SHARE: Motivate others and share your adventures on social - using #FernieStreak, or post direct to our #FernieStreak Facebook Group, HERE.
PRIZE-FREE: This year it’s our turn to give back to local small-business. As such, we're going prize-free. So, turn the tables and show your streak’in support, by shopping and supporting local.
COVID-SAFE: While streak’in is certainly better with friends, family and colleagues, this year please ensure you stay safe – adventuring below your ability level, and inline with current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.

Who is behind the #FernieStreak?
There are a number of great local businesses, clubs and organizations behind the #FernieStreak. Which makes sense, as it's an all encompassing, all-welcome, great event to take part in. Whether you are a part of the local Fernie community or not, everyone is welcome!
Thanks to Alpine Pathways Psychological Services, the City of Fernie, the Fernie Trails Alliance, Stag Leap Running Co., the Fernie Fix, the Fernie Mountain Bike Club, the Fernie Nordic Society and the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force, for supporting this year's #FernieStreak.
