We all know someone that has gone through chemotherapy. When it comes to pancreatic cancer, because of where the pancreas is located, the typical doses are usual much higher causing even more severe side effects and reactions.
We have adopted the "Work Harder It's Not Chemo" slogan to encourage those that have the ability to put their bodies to work for those that can not. After all, doing any physical activity is nothing compared to what someone going through chemo is experiencing.
Join the "Work Harder It's Not Chemo" campaign and put your body to work.
- You choose the activity you want to perform. It can be anything from running, swimming, rowing, push ups, pull ups, burpees or anything in-between or any activity that challenges you.
- On the weekend of February 6th & 7th for 12 minutes and 57 seconds perform that activity. Why 12:57? Because that is how many people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each day worldwide.
- Perform the activity alone or set up a team.
- Video yourself performing the activity or take photos and post to social media using #workharderitsnotchemo and #projectpurple and tag @projectpurple.
- Share your pages and ask your networks to support your efforts to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer early detection research.
When you register you will have the option of choosing to receive a Work Harder It's Not Chemo Shirt or Buff. The Buff is from Salt n Rays and is UPF 50, which protects your from both UVB and UVA rays, even when wet. It blocks 97% UVA rays and 99.7% UVB rays.
