8K/4K/1K
Come and join us in the beautiful Belle Prairie Park nestled among some of the largest Red Pines in the area. The start area is along the Mississippi River and has a picnic area and playground. The 8K course is USATF certified, flat, fast, on asphalt and is chip timed. The 4K course will be on trails and roads. It is also chip timed. The 1K makes a small loop in the park on the asphalt.
8K Team Competition
Get 3 or more of your friends, co-workers or family and run the 8K as a team. Save money and win prizes. Teams are scored on an age-graded system and have a separate registration.
Online Registration will close on June 17th at 6 p.m. Race Day registration will be available. T-shirts are guaranteed to those pre-register by May 30th.
The River Rat 8k/4K is committed to providing safe and healthy events at all times, and is following all local and state guidelines in hosting this event. During the COVID-19 pandemic we are implementing extra precautions, which will require full cooperation among our participants, volunteers and staff. The new procedures are always changing and will be posted closer to the event date.

Starting Procedures
The 8K and 4K will start as normal with social distancing recommended. Faster runners should place themselves toward the front.
The Course
Our 8K course is flat, fast and on pavement, great for both the seasoned competitor and the recreational jogger or walker. The 8K course is certified and chip timed. The 4K is primarily on trails but includes some pavement. It is also be chip timed. The Fun Run is Free and open to anyone. Belle Prairie Park is known for its tall red pines, the Ox Cart Trail and access to the Mississippi River. The park has a picnic area, disc golf course and playground. Outdoor bathrooms are available but no showers.
