The "Dram of Freedom" is a series of ongoing fundraising events to benefit the Aruna Project. These events are hosted by a private group called Sacred Sippers that desires to renew whisky culture by "drinking great whisky for a greater purpose." All gifts to this page go directly to The Aruna Project and are tax deductible.
About the Aruna Project
A 501(c)(3) headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, the Aruna Project is dedicated to freeing, employing, and empowering victims of human trafficking. The catalyst of the freedom process in the Aruna Run Series with a majority of the funds raised flowing into its Training Center in the heart of the red-light district in Mumbai. Enslaved women come to the Training Center for a hot meal, skill and trade development, and counseling. Once a woman chooses freedom through employment with Aruna, she steps into an environment marked by holistic care designed to help her heal and find a path forward. Each woman is provided a living wage, safe housing, healthcare, retirement savings, and continued counseling. She also continues her training as an Artisan, learning to produce the line of functional luxury Athlesiure products sold in Aruna's online store. The proceeds from the sale of the products fund the Artisan's holistic care.
