Don't Wait For Hope. Create it!
Our son was born with a rare disease of the GI system and lost his entire small intestine after it went necrotic when he was 2. He is awaiting a multivisceral transplant. Make a Wish granted our son and family a trip to Disney World, and it was the most magical experience of our lives. Owen was able to live a different life at Give Kids the World, the resort we stayed at for our wish trip. The kids experiencing these wishes are so, so deserving, and the thought of even one child missing an opportunity to have their wish granted is gut wrenching to me. We were so very lucky that we were booked just before the pandemic. I've heard from and seen several families who's wishes have been postponed or who have had to change their wish for something different. My hope is that by raising some money for this organization it will help a child live their dream like Owen got to.

I am participating in the Captain Canada Run in support of Make-A-Wish® Canada.
Make-A-Wish® Canada works with communities across the country to provide children with critical illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish.
Thousands for wishes have been delayed because of the pandemic, but we’re still granting wishes, and you can help us make an immediate difference with your donations and support. For wish children and families, – finding hope in challenging circumstances is something they have been doing long before anyone heard the word “lockdown.” Robbed of the simple joys of childhood, hospital stays, doctor’s visits and painful treatments are their “normal.” Your support will help to make sure that when life returns to normal, no child will have to wait for their already-delayed wish.
