This race is for YOU!
We are launching the first annual Chronic Pain Awareness Walk/Run in partnership with Avella Injury and Pain Management Centre. This event will create awareness of chronic pain and the impact it can have on individuals, families and communities. This event encourages runners, walkers and individuals of all abilities to get active and benefit from the positive effects of physical activity. Some of the improvements exercise can make are reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, and overall well being. There are four distances options - 1K, 2K, 5K and 10K. Run or walk your choice of event anytime between June 1st and September 30th, 2021.
This race is priced at only $35 plus $10 for shipping and handling if you need your kit mailed to you. The race kit includes a finisher medal, a technical t-shirt available in both men's and women's styles, or a hat, and a face mask!
The top two fundraisers will be awarded with a pair of ASICS shoes of their choice (up to $200 retail value).
In addition to the two pairs of shoes, race participants will receive an ASICS promo code that is good for $25 on the ASICS online store.
Race participants will also receive a 90 day trial for ASICS Runkeeper GO, an app that'll help you track your walk/run and motivate you to keep going!

We will be hosting two safe curb-side race kit pick-ups. Get your race kit early and avoid paying shipping and handling when you pickup you race kit in person.

About Avella Injury and Pain Management Centre
At Avella Injury and Pain Management, we offer patient-centred care for individuals. We provide chronic pain management that includes pharmacological management (medications), procedural interventions (injections) including PRP and viscosupplementation, medical cannabis, physical rehabilitation interventions and psychological interventions. Track your run/walk using the ASICS Runkeeper™ app
How to track your run/walk using the ASICS Runkeeper™ app:
1. From your mobile device, go to your Race Roster dashboard for this event HERE
2. Click on the “Connect to my app” button, where you will be asked to confirm your name within the app (confirm your name and the event will be added to your app)
3. Revisit the Runkeeper™ app when you are ready to participate. From your start screen, click the flag symbol (bottom right) and select the race to start recording.
4. Complete your distance and save the activity. Your results will be automatically posted to the Race Roster leaderboard HERE
5. From the results page, click on your name to see your finisher summary
How to record your results
You can record your run or walk through an app, GPS watch, or other timing device. Once you have completed and recorded your run/walk you will want to save the results so that you can submit them (see section below on how to submit results).
I finished my run/walk, now what?
Please submit the results of your virtual race to email@example.com. Results will be posted within a few days on SpeedRiverTiming.com along with a link to your finisher's certificate. Include in the email, which race you completed, the method you used to time and measure your run/walk and of course, your time.
