Join our Movin' Moms Couch to 5K and get back on your feet in 2021. This 10-week training program will get you ready to run a 5K (3.1 miles) by Mother's Day weekend. All events will be virtual to keep participants safe and fit in your busy schedule. We want to make it simple, rewarding and FUN to train for and complete a 5K.
Specially designed for moms, this training program includes:
*two 8-week 5K training plans for differing fitness levels (walk-to-run beginner plan, running for speed intermediate plan)
*ten weeks of strength training exercises written by a certified personal trainer to compliment your running (and walking) miles
*three guest speakers to incorporate mental health, performance, flexibility and nutrition
*awesome swag including a Movin' Moms medal and a stainless steel wine tumbler
*virtual 5K over Mother's Day weekend
*mini running analysis from a running technique specialist
Important Dates:
Registration Begins: February 1
Program Begins: March 1
Running Training Begins: Week of March 14
Race Packet/Swag Pickup: Week of April 25 and May 3 (pickup from Smith PT in Kenosha, Crystal Lake or St. Charles)
Virtual 5K Race: May 8-9
