Help Neil raise money

For participating in Victory March/ La marche de la Victoire

My Story…

Bravado always seems to get you in the end, doesn't it? A friend of mine was jokingly teasing me that my one 40 km walk was not enough but then I laughed (while comfortably sitting around 900$) and said, "Well, I may be able to throw in a second one if we hit 2 000$."

Famous. Last. Words.

Thanks to everyone, not only have we have SMASHED through my initial goal of 1 000$, but also my secondary goal of 1 250$.

Every penny goes towards supporting Boomer's Legacy and worthy humanitarian projects identified by Canadian Forces service men and women.

On the night of May 4th, 2021 I strapped on my new combat boots and did two 20 km ruck marches in one go for a total of 40 km.  I am taking some time to recover and have ordered some new gear to make my next hike a little less painful and will just have to find another 40 km route worthy of hiking. (And Ventilan...  I will need Ventilan.  Any of my M.D. friends want to help me out?)

We are in a tight competition as a team to stay ahead of the Hasty P's and keep our lead as the top fundraising team in Canada and I could use your help.

Help me in my journey to help them! Ensemble, nous pouvons le faire.

Description

Chief Military Personnel and Boomer’s Legacy have collaborated to launch the first inaugural Victory March. This May, Canadians have the opportunity to lace up next to the women and men that serve our country to remember liberation of the Netherlands at the end of the Second World War. Over 7,600 Canadians died in the campaign to liberate the Netherlands, a sacrifice that has never been forgotten by the Dutch people. This march will celebrate teamwork and friendship, as well as the special bond between the Netherlands and Canada resulting from the brave and tireless actions of the Canadians and Allied Forces while supporting the kind acts of Canadian Armed Forces today through Boomer’s Legacy.

Boomer’s Legacy was founded in memory of Corporal Andrew “Boomer” Eykelenboom.  The goal of Boomer’s Legacy is to empower all deployed Canadian Armed Forces members to work together to provide humanitarian assistance in the areas they serve.

The funds you raise will assist members of the Canadian Armed Forces soldiers, sailors, aviators and airwomen in funding humanitarian initiatives at home and abroad. Projects vary from helping a family, a school, a hospital or an area, to providing opportunities for women and improving health care or education conditions.
