Hearts in SF Challenge

Welcome to the HEARTS IN SF 3.5-mile virtual challenge!

The Giant Race presented by Alaska Airlines has partnered with the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and its Hearts in San Francisco project to launch this one-month only virtual run/walk highlighting the unique heart sculptures painted by Bay Area artists found all around the city.

Each participant will receive a Hearts-inspired enamel pin, commemorative race bib, and an exclusive Foundation Tony Bennett heart face mask.

Giants fans are no strangers to Tony Bennett’s I Left My Heart in San Francisco, played after every Giants victory at Oracle Park and accompanied by raising the flag inspired by this iconic song. This mask features a picture of the heart sculpture painted by Tony himself back in 2004 to kick off the Hearts in San Francisco project, raising millions for the Foundation. This heart is on permanent display in Union Square.

You in? Great! Running, jogging, or walking are all accepted. Sign up below, tackle your 3.5 miles, and we will mail you your race kit at the end of February, no need to share or post results. We even mapped out a heart-shaped route for you that begins at Market St. & 4th St. in case you’re looking for some inspiration!

Looking for more than just one challenge? Check out the entire 2021RUN Virtual Fitness Series at race-sfgiants.com/2021RUN. Challenges will be unveiled at the start of each month with distances ranging from 5K to 5 miles. A race kit will be mailed to you at the end of each month. Registrants of the series will automatically receive February’s pin and race bib!

Masks, bibs, and pins will be mailed at the end of February. Depending on registration date items may be delayed.
