Eligibility: Open to any athlete registered and in good standing with the Nova Scotia Weightlifting Association or their Provincial Sporting Organization.
Events: All IWF weight categories - male and female
Awards:
- Top 3 in each category.
- Best Overall Lifters - male and female.
Qualifying: This competition is a qualifying event for the 2021 Canadian Senior Championships.
Rules: The most recent IWF rule book will govern the competition, with the following exceptions:
- Singlets are preferred, but not mandatory. Those without singlets may wear close-fitting shorts and a tucked-in t-shirt
- Athletes who do not register a successful lift in the snatch will be permitted to compete in the clean and jerk.

- Zoom meeting link will be sent to participants via email
- All session participants are asked to join the meeting at the start time
- Scales must be digital and placed on a hard level surface
- Athletes must weigh-in wearing their singlet (or equivalent competition attire)
- No shoes, socks, jewelry
- There will be a 0.5 kg allowance for singlet and scale accuracy
- Have your opening Snatch and C&J ready at weigh-in
- Athletes have 1 hour to make weight, as per normal rules
- Zoom meeting link will be sent to participants via email
- All participants must join the meeting 20 minutes prior to session start
- Camera must be directly in front of athlete, at a height of ~1 metre
- Camera must be back far enough to keep athlete and bar visible at all times
- Windows behind the platform must be covered
- Black weights should be colour coded with tape around the rim
- Metric weights are preferred but not mandatory
- If pound weights are used, total weight will be rounded DOWN to the nearest kg
- Collars are recommended but not mandatory
- Only 2.5kg collars will be counted towards the weight on the bar
- Clips or other small collars are permitted but will be treated as 0kg
- The Announcer will call the athletes over Zoom audio
- Attempts will be called in standard order, lowest weight first
- When an athlete is called, bar should be loaded and ready
- Athlete should be prepared to turn weights for verification if requested
- Athlete's clock will start once the weight is verified
- Weight changes must be submitted via Zoom chat (not audio)
- Standard weight change rules apply (declaration + two changes) with the following exception:
- Once an athlete's clock is started, it will not be paused for change requests
- The lift will be judged by 3 referees according to the standard competition rules
- There will be no down signal
- Athletes should lower the bar once they feel they have completed the lift
- Coaches are permitted to give their athletes a verbal/visual down signal
- If any part of the athlete or bar moves out of the video, the attempt will be ruled No Lift
- A physical network connection is recommended; otherwise make sure you have reliable wifi
- Poor quality audio or loud background music will make it difficult to hear the Announcer
- External speakers are recommended to ensure best audio quality
- Poor quality video might result in a No Lift ruling if the officials cannot verify the lift
- Attempts missed due to bad or lost connections will be ruled No Lift
- The scoreboard will be shared in the Zoom meeting
- The competition video will be streamed live on Youtube
Refund Policy
- Entry fees are refundable until registration closes. No refunds after March 21.
- NSWA Memberships are not refundable
- Race Roster processing fee is not refundable.
