My Story…
I am logging my miles for the remainder of the year for my dear friend Pete. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of 2020. He had just retired a few months earlier after a 40+ year career. Undaunted and undeterred, Pete has been a rock star through his treatments which, if you know him, came as no surprise. Pancreatic cancer is SO INSIDIOUS. Its detection and prevention don't get the attention and dollars they deserve. Let's change that!
Edited to add: Since starting the fundraiser, I found out that another dear friend of mine (Mike) also has pancreatic cancer. These two gentlemen are in their early 60s with wives and families and many happy years of retirement ahead of them! The cruelty with which this cancer strikes is unfathomable.
