Important Announcement
Run Regina is excited to announce that we will be offering an in-person option for the Canada Day Fun Run & Walk on July 1.
To ensure we meet all Saskatchewan Public Health Orders and to demonstrate our safety protocols to the Saskatchewan Health Authority we will be limiting the in-person event to the following;
- Only 5K and 10K options for in-person. All options remain for virtual event including 3K, 5K, 10K and 25K.
- Only 150 spots will be made available for the in-person event.
- Only Saskatchewan residents will be permitted to register for the in-person event. Virtual event remains open for everyone.
- Only individuals 12 years of age or older will be permitted to register for the in-person event. Virtual event remains open for all ages.
The opportunity to host our first in-person event in over 17 months has Run Regina excited to do what we do best and help bring mass participation sport back to our province. We hope you will bear with us as we work to find the "new normal" for the race industry.

In-Person Race
Package Pickup
- Package pickup will be in the parking lot at the Canada Games Athletics Complex at 3025 McDonald Street (https://goo.gl/maps/jCvnern5K3CWFa1K9).
- Package pickup will be Wednesday, June 30 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Come find us under the Run Regina tent outside the main gates to the track.
Race Details
- Start time for races will be 9:00 am on Thursday, July 1.
- Both the 5K and 10K will start and end at the Canada Games Athletic Complex.
- We will be doing a "pulse start" with small groups of runners and walkers leaving every 15 seconds. We will be using this format to encourage safe physical distancing both at the start line as well as on course.
Race Covid Protocols
- If you feel sick the morning of July 1, do not come to the race site. We are happy to transfer your registration to the virtual event free of charge. Virtual races can be completed any time in July. Our volunteers have the right to refuse any participant showing signs of illness access to the event site.
- Plan to arrive, ready to run or walk, no more than 20 minutes prior to race start. After race please collect your post race package and head back to parking lot immediately.
- Masks are required to be worn in all start and finish areas on site, and until you have crossed the start line. Masks do not need to be worn on course while running, but should be kept on hand for any self-serve aid stations on course and must be put back on before you exit the finish chute. Masks may be removed after you finish if you are actively eating or drinking.
- No spectators will be allowed at the race site. Spectators are permitted on the course. We ask spectators to avoid high traffic areas like water stations and course turnarounds.
- While water stations will be provided on both the 5K and 10K course we encourage you to carry your own water if possible.
- We ask you to maintain 6 feet of physical distance from other runners and walkers when on course if possible. This includes both fellow participants as well as bystanders on pathways.

Public washroom is located just of the course if need, near Candy Cane Park.
10K Course
Starting and ending at the Canada Games Athletics Complex on Assiniboine Ave.
9:00 am start time
One water station near intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Wascana Parkway. You will pass it twice.
Public washroom is located just of the course if need, near turnaround point.
Virtual Event Details
How To Participate
You can run or walk to complete your distance any time between July 1 - 31, 2021.
Upload your time on the Race Roster Virtual Results Page. Instructions will be emailed prior to event to assist you in uploading your time. We encourage you to track your run using the RunKeeper app, where your results will automatically sync with your Race Roster account and upload right onto the Virtual Results Leaderboard.
Where To Run or Walk
Wherever you are! The simplicity of participating in a virtual event is you can start right outside your front door. Be sure to follow all guidelines outlined by your local government regarding physical distancing and activity to ensure you are keeping yourself and your community safe.
Virtual Event Safety Tips
- Respect all local government guidelines regarding Covid-19.
- Complete event solo (or with members of your family or those in your "Covid bubble").
- Respect other runners and walkers. Keep your space, maintain six feet of distance, pass with care.
- Avoid high traffic pedestrian and vehicle areas. Run or walk close to home during a quieter time of day whenever possible.
- Wear appropriate clothing. Be visible and dress for the weather.
- Bring water and/or nutrition if you are planning a longer route. There are no water stations in a virtual event.
- Carry a cell phone with you and tell someone the route you will follow in case of an emergency.
- You may complete your event using a treadmill if that is an option available to you and that you would prefer.
Kids Race
An option for children 12 years of age and under is provided in the registration fee section below.
This option does not include a race shirt. They will receive a medal, race bib and Leaderboard to record their results.
If you wish to receive a shirt for children 12 years of age and under you may register them in the regular race category.
Event Withdrawal Policy
Entries may not be transferred, given or sold to a third party or deferred to a future date. All fees are non-refundable.
