My Story…
Three months ago, my younger sister, Sarah, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This was an unexpected blow to my vivacious, athletic and upbeat sibling and a shock to our family. But Sarah didn’t waste a moment and she began tackling this aggressive nemesis with all the gusto, optimism and verve she brings into her life every day. She has surrounded herself with the very best doctors, friends and organizations to help her in this difficult fight.
One of these organizations is the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance (COCA). COCA is a nonprofit that helps to raise the awareness of this brutal disease. It provides support groups, educational programs, and financial assistance for women who cannot afford important things for their care during this very difficult time.
To aid in its programs, COCA is hosting its annual charity race/walk, Jodi’s Race, at City Park on Saturday, June 12. My sisters and I and our sons will be there in costume to join in with the other teams to raise money. We are Sarah’s “Team F Cancer”! It is a fun way to generate funds for this wonderful organization that provides inspiration, help and hope to thousands of women. I’m asking you to join me and consider supporting this critical cause.
Thank you with all my heart!
