My Story…
Like many across the globe this year, our Reclaim Childhood community of refugee and Jordanian girls and coaches has experienced uncertainty, loss, grief and isolation. The pandemic underscored why the RC mission is so important. Sports, teamwork, friendship, and hope are proven means to help young girls and refugees cope with these kind of anxieties.
Thanks to your support, Reclaim Childhood has been a source of support to our communities during the pandemic. We've been paying our coaches, and they have run virtual programs with our girls (and now back in person) and reached out to all of our families each week over the past year. And so our community is stronger than ever when the need for this kind of programming is only growing. Sadly, many other aid organizations in Jordan have not survived the pandemic making our role all the more important.
I'm excited to share that our girls are back on the soccer field and we're back to growing and expanding access to sports and play to many more of the thousands of refugee and local girls in Jordan.
