***Registration will close at 1PM every Wednesday for that day's race, and reopen Wedneday Night after the race. Please plan accordingly.***
Mountain Bike Racing is back in 2021!!! While we don't quite have COVID-19 in the rear view mirror; we have found a way to get back to racing in a safe manner.
**Please scroll past all of the registration categories to find all the information you need for this year's races.**
This is a race series for EVERYONE! As long as you have a bicycle worthy of being ridden on dirt, and can pedal it, you can do this! If you are a pro, it’s great for training. If you are new to Mountain Biking and/or Riverside State Park, it’s a great way to learn the trails and make new friends.
We use the term “race” loosely. We are all about fun and keeping it simple! Come out on Wednesday Nights and ride your bike. Pedal as hard as you want or casually if you want. If pedaling casually, do keep in mind that it will eventually get dark! New course every week. Random prize drawings and cold drinks will be waiting for you at the Finish Line.

COVID Rules of the Road
We have some rules we need to abide by, in accordance with our permit from State Parks.
- The start line and the finish line will be separate.
- The start will be a "rolling start." Meaning you can show up and start any time between 5:30 and 6:45PM. No early starts, no starts past 6:45.
- Sorry, no beer garden this year. There will be non-alcohilic beverages available for all racers at the finish.
- Post Race, you are welcome to hang out at the Park, but you must stay in your own "pods."
- Raffle items will be called over the PA; please no gathering around the prize table.
- Hand santizing station will be avaialble near the porta-potty.
Registration-How It Works
A few changes to registration.
- ALL REGISTRATION will be done online, and before each race and will close at 1PM the day of each race. NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION.
- 18 & Under Riders: No registration fees for you, they have been paid for by sponsors. You must still purchase a number plate/timing chip for $5.00
- If you are 18 & Under and wish to register as a two lapper for a single event, you must email eric@nsplit.com for an access code.
Other Need to Know Info-Seriously, read ALL of this.
This is the spot where you really need to read all the info. It will answer most of the questions you may have.
Where:
The “old airstrip” in the 7 Mile Area of Riverside State Park. Directions from the intersection of Assembly/Francis/Hwy 291: Follow Hwy 291 North. Turn left at 7 Mile Road (there are signs). 7 Mile Road until you cross the bridge over the river and then take the first left. From there you are just a few minutes away from the fun, follow the signs leading you to the parking area.
Discover Pass:
Yes, you have to have one to park at the venue. Buy it in advance! But online here: https://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/ or at any number of outdoor retails shops in Spokane. Don't count on a Ranger being onsite to sell you one, buy in advnace!
Cost:*
$23 per race for 19 & Over. ALSO, you are required to have a Washington State Park Discover Pass to park in the park. $30 gets you a pass for an entire year for 2 vehicles. **A one time fee of $5.00 will be charged in addition to your registration for your number plate and timing chip. Number plates and timing chip included with Series pass purchase. This is yours for the season. Replacements are $5.00.
18 and under are paid for by various sponsors. If you are on one of the High School/Middle School Teams, you must register online for the whole series. All other 18 & Under can register online or, onsite, and are paid for by Inland Elevator.
Timing:
The race will be timed and scored using chip timing from Negative Split Event Timing. Results will be posted online only as quickly as possible after each race. You will purchase ($5.00) number plate with a timing chip stuck to the back of it. It is yours for the entire series. Please hold on to it, and try not to ruin it. Replacement number plates/chips will be $5.00.
Age Groups:
14 & Under (Male & Female), 15-18 (Male & Female), 19-39 (Male & Female), 40-49 (Male Only), 40+ (Female Only), 50-59 (Male Only) and 60+ (Male Only). Your age group will be determined by the age you are on the first night of the series. We will keep points for the entire series. Division Winners get prizes at the final party.
E-Bikes:
We realize they are a thing and here to stay. And we are working towards some kind of accomodation for them in our events. But because of covid issues and staggered starts, this will not be the year. Please don't bring your E-Bike to race. Thanks!
Post Race:
Each night is sponsored by a different local bike shop. There will be a random prize giveaway after every race. Also, ice cold beverages for all to enjoy, one per person please.
Etiquette:
On course: please be respectful of other park users. We have a permit to race on the trails, not to close them to others. Be careful of your fellow racers. Don’t run over the top of slower racers. And if someone is injured, please stop to help if necessary. If you drop out of the race for any reason, please report back to the timing trailer so we know that you made it back to the venue safely.
Housekeeping:
We strive to leave the area better than we found it when we came in. Please pick up any trash you find, whether it’s yours or not. Also, please be kind to the neighbors that live near the park. Go very slow on the road on dry warm nights to help keep the dust to a minimum.
Emergencies:
On the back of your number plate will be name and phone number to call in the event of the emergency. If you require immediate attention on course, please dial 911, then call the number on the number plate so we know Fire/Rescue is coming. Otherwise, please call the number on your number plate and we will come get you and bring you back to the venue area.
Refunds/Transfers
Refund Policy-Sorry but there are no refunds for any reason.
Transfers-We understand things come up and if registered for a single race you can't make for some reason, we will transfer a registration fee to another race of your choosing on a ONE TIME courtesy only.
