The 5k run course is mostly flat but with one stinker hill within the first .25 miles inside the Nature Center. As you exit the Nature Center, then the course runs downhill and turns into flat and definitely fast roads, and, most of all, lots of fun! You'll start by running through the WNC Nature Center, then make your way through the park on the greenway. The course takes you right back to the Nature Center for the finish, making the whole race-day experience a breeze. The run will be open to vehicular traffic, so please run facing traffic when you are not on a sidewalk or greenway.
The Nature Walk path follows a paved 3/4 mile route within the Nature Center grounds that is ADA-accessible. Your self-guided tour will include fun, nature-related prompts and activities. See the animals and enjoy the park at your own pace. If you'd like to get at least a mile walk in, feel free to walk the course twice!
There will be grab-and-go snacks and beverages provided by Earth Fare at the finish line so you can refuel for the rest of your day.
