As you crest that last hill on Route 36 heading into Boulder the first things to grab your attention are the magnificent Flatirons. Over the last 12 months or so there have been sporting events with no fans, virtual homecoming activities and Zoom ceremonies, so most of Buffs Nation hasn’t had a chance to get back. It’s time for a virtual trip!
Many of us are trying to work off the Covid cushioning we’ve put on or maintain that WFH (Work From Home) bod and looking for ways to stay motivated, so we came up with a fun idea. Virtually cover the distance along one of four trails (1.6 miles to 10.1 miles) around the Flatirons (matching elevation gain is optional). It doesn’t matter if you jog, walk with pups, trail run, push a stroller, juggle jog, tromp on a treadmill, parkour, or cover the distance some other fun way as long as you use leg or arm power.
The Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego chapters are hosting this virtual fun run but it’s open to alumni, family, friends and supporters around the country. To make it a bit more interesting the three groups are competing for the most combined distance covered by participants with trophy and bragging rights on the line. When you register select the chapter to run for or go the agnostic route and pick the national team of Ralphie’s Runners. Put on your CU gear, lace up the shoes and let's get moving!
