Step Up for Mental Health, powered by Cameco, is back for 2021. Sign up to run/walk 5K or 10K in the virtual event set for Oct. 1-6, 2021.

Pretty cool, eh? But Step Up is more than a single event in October – it’s an ongoing journey of wellness and we want to support you every step of the way.
In addition to tracking your goals and achievements in the running/walking journal, we invite you to join the Step Up Virtual Run Club on Facebook and get free training tips from Brainsport and Zone Sports Physiotherapy, as well as tons of encouragement from the Step Up community.
Excited yet? Well, we’re finally getting to the best part! As always, 100% of your registration fee – plus a matching amount from Cameco – supports the Cameco Fund for Mental Health, administered by the Saskatoon Community Foundation. In just two years, you’ve helped raise nearly $800,000 to assist mental health projects and programs in dozens of Saskatchewan communities.
Ontario Residents: All funds raised from Ontario participants will contribute to the existing Cameco Fund for Mental Health in Northumberland County.

I don't live in Saskatoon. Can I still register?
Yes. The 2021 run/walk is a virtual event so we encourage you to participate in your home community and submit your results according to instructions that will be emailed to all registered participants. Please note that registration is limited to Canada and US participants due to high international shipping costs. *Ontario residents: All funds raised from Ontario participants will contribute to the existing Cameco Fund for Mental Health in Northumberland County.
How do I get my swag?
Starting in June, we’ll have drive-through swag pickup in Saskatoon, plus drive-through pickup in Regina, Battleford and Lloydminster. (Watch your email, including spam folder, for dates.) If you live outside a 40-km radius of Saskatoon, your swag package will be mailed to you after June 28.
What does the $25 student registration include?
For $25, students (up to age 18) receive the bunnyhug and medal. Anyone who wishes to receive the full swag package (with bunnyhug, shirt, running journal and medal) is welcome to sign up at the adult price point ($50 for early-bird; increasing to $60 and then $70).
How does the virtual event work?
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, we are following the guidance of public health officials to ensure a safe event. The 2021 virtual event runs the same as last year:
- You choose your own starting line, whether it's a treadmill or an outdoor route in your community. (Please note that registration is limited to Canada and US participants due to high international shipping costs.)
- Complete your race distance (5K or 10K) between Oct. 1-6, upload your finishing time through Race Roster and you’ll receive your medal in the mail. (Watch for upload instructions closer to the event.)
