A 25th anniversary celebration of Donovan Bailey's 100M and 4 x 100M Olympic Gold Medals
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Donovan Bailey's 100M Gold and the Men's 4 x 100M Relay Gold Medals, Donovan Bailey, the Oakville Community Foundation and VR Pro Inc. proudly introduce the Donovan Bailey Pass the Baton virtual race events.
Choose from five different events: individual 1KM, 5KM, 10KM, 25KM; or the 4x100M social bubble relay. Walk, Run, Ride, Bike, Roller skate, stroll – indoors or out Raise money, have fun, challenge friends and associates across the nation.
The Donovan Bailey Pass the Baton race will support youth charities in Canada. A mandatory $5 donation will be added to each race entry.
An additional $10 will be applied for shipping and handling - We will ship your bib, medal and all of your additional items for a charge of only $10 for individual race kits and $15 for the group event.

*** BIG NEWS *** Registered Participants in Pass The Baton Canada, who are 18 years and older, are eligible to win a $2,500.00 Staples Gift Card. Random draw to be held on Monday, August 9th, 2021 – from all eligible registered participants.
The Details: An eligible registered participant in Pass The Baton Canada is a resident of Canada, 18 years of age or older. Not available to employees and/or their families related to Pass The Baton Canada, including the organizing team, sponsors, beneficiaries and their families. The Winner of the $2,500 Staples Gift Card agrees to accept the prize as is, within 60 days of the announcement of the winner. Winner agrees to have their name and photo published in all/any Pass The Baton Canada press releases and social media. This prize is not available to residents of Quebec.
Earn a once in a lifetime medal and race kit
Race kits include a custom technical shirt, a commemorative race bib (suitable for framing), a printable race bib with number to wear during the event, and a beautifully designed two-sided, gold-tone finishers medal. Groups participating in the 4x100M event will also receive a baton.
Those who complete the 25K distance will get a special double sided celebration coin added to their race kit!
Participants who would like to receive their race kit prior to the start of the week long celebration starting on July 27th, will need to order their race kit by June 21st at the latest.

What is a virtual race?
Virtual races are very similar to in-person races - you enter a race and when you finish you get a medal etc - but differ from in-person events in a few ways:
1. You can choose to complete the virtual race whenever you like.
2. You can complete the race wherever you like. You can even do the whole thing indoors on a treadmill, outside, or whatever suits you!
3. After you complete your race, you submit your results so they can be posted on the overall results page (see section on how to submit results).
This is an Athletics Ontario Sanctioned event
We encourage all event participants to read through Athletics Ontario’s Virtual Race Safety Recommendations which can be found here.
IMPORTANT: How to register 4 people for the 4 x 100M event:
1. Select the sub-event that you are registering for.
2. Fill out the registration information for the first person you are registering.
3. Do NOT select 'continue' after you have filled out the information for the first person on your team. Instead, please select 'ADD ANOTHER REGISTRANT'.
4. Complete this process until you have all four people added.
5. Once all four people have been added, select 'continue'.
How to record your results
You can record your run or walk through an app, GPS watch, or other timing device. Once you have completed and recorded your run/walk you will want to save the results so that you can submit them (see section below on how to submit results).
