My Story…
Thank you for visiting this fundraising page. The 2021 Miles for Migraine Walk/Run/Relax event supports the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (ADHA) efforts such as Headache on the Hill (HOH). I was honored to be part of HOH's 2021 California team to advocate for more NIH funding and the expansion of Veteran's Headache Centers of Excellence. This nationwide event involves mostly volunteers passionate about improving the lives of those living with migraine/headache disease.
Migraine and headache diseases are common. One BILLION people worldwide experience migraine/headache disease. Women experience migraine three times as often as men. During the reproductive years, as many as 43% of women experience migraine. Migraine is a family disease impacting four (probably more) generations of women in my family.
Migraine has influenced my entire adult life. For the past thirty plus years I have lived with migraine disease. Migraine is the most disabling disease among people ages 15-50. It is an invisible condition that is often misunderstood and stigmatized. Migraine/headache disease is the most burdensome disease that is the least funded. I am dedicated to advocacy efforts to better the lives of the millions of people who live with migraine.
I appreciate your support. It means a lot!
