My professional career has focused on improving the recognition and management of headache disorders (which are most often a form of migraine). 25 years into this, awareness of the enormous burden of migraine on society remains shallow, training of clinicians in treating it remains poor, and funding for research to advance the field remains microscopic (far below the funding for diseases with far less impact).
