Hope in Motion, presented by Minnesota Oncology, is an annual 5K and Family Walk event that benefits Angel Foundation. We hope you will join us Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Veterans Park in Richfield, Minnesota. The event includes a 5K walk/run, 1-mile family walk, kids dash, and cancer survivor celebration.
Due to safety regulations and COVID-19 protocols, registration will only be allowed online. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION IN PERSON AT THE EVENT. Registration is now closed. Anyone not registered will not be allowed to participate.
The big day is almost here. In order to ensure you have a great experience, we’d like to give you some helpful information to make parking and check-in a breeze.
There is ample parking in the Veterans Park lot. (6335 Portland Ave, Richfield, MN 55423)
However, if you find the lot full, you can park at the nearby Richfield Ice Arena (636 E 66th St, Richfield, MN 55423) and just cut across right to the parking Veterans Park parking lot (look for directional signs to guide you!).
Check-in is easy. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. There will be multiple lines. Just hop in one and we’ll get you checked in! You will pick up your T-shirt at registration. Make sure you ask for a STaRS shirt if you are a survivor!
The park boasts the largest playground facility in Richfield (on the west side, near 64th & Portland Ave) so kids will have plenty to explore!
The Kid’s Dash will take place at 9:00 a.m. (it’s the first event!).
The 5K walk/run will start at 9:15 a.m. and the 1-mile family walk (the actual course is 1.08 miles) will start just a few minutes later. If you are with a group doing a combination of these events, it won’t be much of a wait for one another, we promise!
If you are a cancer survivor, please make sure to stop by the STaRS area. We want to capture your photo and add it to a big, beautiful mosaic we’ll share with everyone after the event. Heck- even if you are not a survivor, come get the link and add your photo to the mosaic!
If the weather is inclement, we will post a cancellation notice on the Angel Foundation website: https://mnangel.org/ (but that won’t happen!)
Minnesota Oncology hosts this annual event to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day, honoring our community's cancer survivors and their loved ones. At Hope in Motion, we raise funds for Angel Foundation while celebrating our cancer survivors – they are our STaRS (Survivors, Thriving and Radiating Strength)! We also take time to honor loved ones lost to cancer throughout the years.
All proceeds from Hope in Motion benefit Angel Foundation. Angel Foundation is a local non-profit organization that helps Minnesota adults with cancer and their families. Specifically, Angel Foundation provides emergency financial assistance as well as education and support so that those struck by cancer can live life well with stability, strength and resilience.
