My Story…
Hey peeps,
I have just signed up for the 2021 BC Bolt, which is a virtual endurance event in which I will challenge myself to cover as many kilometers as possible – through running, walking, or hiking until June 30. My aim is to do 8km each day, a total of 224km. I want to promote healthy living and to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada as heart disease and stroke run in my family and I recently lost my Nanna following a stroke last September.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is a non-profit organization, run by passionate volunteers. They strive "to improve the health of Canadians by preventing and reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, health promotion, and advocacy". Not only do they conduct critical research in preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, they also host several initiatives, programs, and fundraising events pertinent to the prevention and management of these diseases.
The 2021 BC Bolt virtual endurance goal is to reach 21,000 collective kilometers and to raise $10,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. So feel free to join me in this fundraising event by participating in walking, hiking or running or you are welcome to make a donation to the foundation. Thank you for your time and support!
