AthHalf 2021 is the 12th annual half marathon and 5th annual 5K! The AthHalf is a fundraiser for AthFest Educates, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting high-quality music and arts education programs for K -12 youth in Athens-Clarke County. The course highlights Athens's vibrant downtown, beautiful historic buildings, University of Georgia campus and the world-renowned music scene!
The half marathon will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2021, starting at 7:30 am. The starting point of the half marathon is in downtown Athens. The race will wind through downtown Athens, beautiful historic neighborhoods, and the University of Georgia campus. The finish line for the half marathon is at UGA's Sanford Stadium. The race features the best sights that America’s #1 College Town has to offer.
The 5K will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021, starting at 2:30 pm. The 5K is an out-and-back course that goes through downtown Athens and the historic Boulevard neighborhood.
The Health and Fitness Expo will take place on Saturday October 23, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Classic Center Pavilion on Foundry Street in downtown Athens, GA. All participants must pick-up their race bib and race shirt from the Health & Fitness Expo unless they registered for "race day packet pick-up" at the time of their registration.

5K Closed
Children 10 and under receive a $10 discount which auto applies at checkout. There will be a $5 discount for participants who register for both the half marathon and 5K.

Runners will enjoy a gorgeous autumn-time run that begins in downtown Athens before weaving through the historic Boulevard, Normaltown, and Cobbham neighborhoods. Runners then continue past the gorgeous Greek houses on Milledge, and through the Five Points neighborhood where energetic spectators flock and cheer as they drink their morning coffee. Runners pass the “Pumpkin Patch Church” before they head onto the University of Gorgeous campus for the last few miles and finish at UGA's Sanford Stadium. And we’ll have live music throughout the course to keep you energized and having fun!
Time Limit
The half marathon course has a four-hour time limit. All runners must be able to complete the course within four hours. The 5K has a one-hour time limit. All runners must be able to complete the course within 1 hour.
Runner Support
Runners will be well supported on the course with hydration stations, cheering fans, live music, and lots of fun.
Weather
The AthHalf is scheduled during prime fall weather! In October, average monthly temperatures range between 76°F and 50°F, while rainfall totals average around just 3.2 inches for the month.
Medals and Shirts
All 5K and Half Marathon participants will receive race day t-shirts, and all half marathons finishers will receive medals.
