Our story…
Living in Haiti we see first hand the poverty and suffering that we cannot even imagine here in the west. The needs in Haiti are overwhelming and the problems run deep and are very complex, its difficult to even know where to start to help.
Julie works as a physiotherapist at Bethesda Medical Center and at Bethesda we are playing our part in trying to meet some of the complex needs in Haiti by providing high quality, affordable healthcare.
So many people in Haiti suffer from treatable, preventable illness due to lack of knowledge or lack of funds but at Bethesda patients will never be turned away even if they cannot pay. We provide healthcare through a range of different services and help improve quality of life through education.
Our buildings are old, dirty and many of them are unfit for purpose. It is time to bring Bethesda Medical center into the 21st century and improve our facilities and quality of care for the people of Northern Haiti.
A new healthcare facility has been designed by a world class team of architects and now we need to raise the money to be able to build it which is why our family is taking part in Move for the Move.
Over the month of June we will be walking (the boys will probably run, cycle, jump and climb!) 100 miles to try to raise funds to build a new Bethesda.
If you are able please give and your donation will make a massive difference to the lives of people in Haiti.
Here is a story of the difference Bethesda is making in the life of one child with cerebral palsy.
