The Race for Equity is an event to raise awareness, support, and funds for kids in the Hamline Midway, and Frogtown neighborhoods in St. Paul, Minnesota. All proceeds will go to fund scholarships for kids eager to participate in CO·MOTION'S programs.
In-Person Event. The in-person event will take place on:
- Day and Time: Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM CST
- Location: 655 Fairview Ave N, St Paul, MN
- Schedule of events for the day:
- 8:00 am-10:00 am - Check-in Opens (Bib pick-up)
- 10:00 am - Welcoming Remarks
- 10:15 am - 100 Meter Dash and Award Ceremony (Finisher medals)
- 10:30 am - 1 Mile and 5 KM Walk / Run
All participants will receive a T-shirt and water bottle. There will be Gift Certificates donated by Run N Fun for Door Prizes!
Virtual Option/s. There are options to participate virtually, including a Virtual 5 KM Team option and a Solo 5 KM option.
This event is hosted by CO·MOTION: Center for Movement, which is a first-of-its-kind multicultural, multi-ethnic, arts, athletics, and wellness community. Combining a boxing gym, dance and fitness studio(s), game room and even a performance center, CO·MOTION’S space currently stretches over 40,000 square feet and is located in the St. Paul Hamline Midway neighborhood. Outreach, scholarships, camps, and mentorship are all services CO·MOTION provides low-income individuals & families around St. Paul. CO·MOTION provides an intergenerational environment of healthy minds, bodies, and spirits that serve to enrich the broader community, with a focus on strengthening the underserved, low-income neighborhoods of Frogtown, Selby/Dale, Hamline Midway in St. Paul.

CO·MOTION and the race organizers are committed to offering a safe event. We’ll be monitoring national and local guidance regarding progress made to flatten the curve and recommended practices for maintaining a healthy and safe event. As the event gets closer, we’ll provide notification of any precautions that may be necessary to ensure the safety of attendees.
