Help Nadya raise money

For participating in Bridget's Run 2021

Help ensure no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone.

As a society, we don't discuss this topic enough and we should.
I had 2 early miscarriages within a 5 week period at the end of 2019, anybody who has experienced this understands the devastation and the feelings of guilt and shame that come along with it. Once I started opening up about my experience others felt safe enough to share their own and I realized pregnancy loss happens much more frequently than I believe the statistics show.
During this period, I was already a good year into my Return to Running 😊 and as the universe would have it I heard of Bridget's Bunnies a charity in Barrie, Ontario that was holding an event, Bridget's Run. Needless to say, I was in and wanted to learn more.
The inspiration behind Bridget's Bunnies comes from Bridget, the daughter of Theresa and Mat Morrison. Bridget was born still a day before her due date after a healthy pregnancy. Ever since, Theresa and Mat have been working tirelessly to ensure no family has to go through this difficult time alone. Bridget's Bunnies provides Comfort Kits to families who have experienced infant or pregnancy loss. The kits contain comfort items and support resources to help families navigate their loss. Bridget's Bunnies provides these kits for free and also makes them available at the Royal Victoria Hospital as part of the neo-natal Bereavement program.
I ran my 1st Bridget's Run in 2019 not too long after my second miscarriage. By that time, I was reeling, what else was I going to do? I cried on that 5k run. I cried for myself, for my losses, for the blame, for the disappointment. All of it. It was a moment. Bridget's Run was the catalyst for me to begin my healing journey. I could be open publicly about my losses with other members of the community who had experienced the same and we could do it without any shame or judgment, together while running. Wow. I am forever grateful. 🖤🖤
As the ambassador for Bridget's Run, this year, my hope is to start normalizing the conversation around loss. Awareness is key and to help with that I'm setting a goal of raising $1300 which is the cost of 5 Comfort Kits.

Description

Bridget's Run is a 1km/5km family fun run/walk in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month and in support of Bridget's Bunnies and our community partners providing bereavement support for families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

Bridget's Bunnies is dedicated to ensuring no family endures pregnancy or infant loss alone. In memory of baby Bridget, who was born still just one day shy of her due date, comfort kits are provided to families in the Barrie and surrounding areas who are experiencing a loss. Kits include comfort items, memory makers and resources of support to provide gentle direction and compassion to help parents in the days that follow loss.

As COVID-19 marches on across the nation we know that families will continue to endure pregnancy and infant loss. As a result these families are left to navigate the ramifications of this traumatic experience in an environment of overwhelming uncertainty and fear.

Your support is needed now more than ever.
