In partnership, Mountain View High School Boosters Club and Los Altos High School Boosters Club present a virtual family fun community walk/run 5k. The virtual event takes place June 4-6, meaning you can run/walk your personal race on any of those days on your schedule. Instructions for submitting your results will be sent prior to June 4th.
In the time of COVID-19 we know that so much has changed. Students have missed in-person school and activities, small businesses are struggling, some people are out of work, some are sick, and parents & kids are itching to get out and move!
We know that as a community we are stronger, and we will get through this time together! We are all MVLA strong! We invite you to join our family fun walk/run to celebrate your health, to celebrate our schools, to get our bodies moving, and to raise funds for CHAC, Community Health Awareness Council.
CHAC provides high quality, affordable mental health care to our local communities throughout Santa Clara County, as well as provide mental health services in all of MVLA schools, Los Altos School District, Mountain View Whisman School District, and Sunnyvale School District. At this stage in the pandemic finding quality, affordable mental health care is essential, as we all are experiencing grief and change in one form or another, and many are seeking care for depression, anxiety, stress, and so much more.
To register is only $10 -- all proceeds will be donated by MVHS Sports Boosters to CHAC. We hope that you'll consider making an additional donation to this great cause! Spread the word to get more people to join this virtual event! Heck, make it fun and join the MVHS fundraising team or the LAHS fundraising team and we'll make it a fundraising competition! You can select your team during registration.
Prior to race day you'll receive instructions for how to time your race and submit your results. After you've submitted results you'll be presented a virtual finisher's certificate.
We hope this event will be fun for the community. To encourage a celebratory spirit print out this coloring page to post in a front window of your home so that other walkers & runners will have something fun to look for during their outing! If possible, wear your school spirit gear! Post fun pictures & videos of yourself on social media using the hashtag #MVLAstrong and #wemovetogether!
