My Story…
This is my 15th year on staff at UrbanPromise and I really want to raise $15,000 for UrbanPromise this Run for Promise.
I know it seems a lot, but after 15 years of being here, I am still amazed at how much passion I have for this very simple mission: To share the love of Jesus to those living in Toronto Community Housing. We do this not with glamorous programs, crafts or beautiful facilities. Rather, we do this by loving the child every single day in every way we can.
This October, the Lee Family will walk 21 km (half marathon) to raise support for this cause.

Children living in Toronto Community Housing want what any kid wants...
>To be known, accepted and valued.
>To become just like their role models.
>To dream.
They're up against some tough realities...
>material poverty
>lack of resources
>destructive cycles
>broken families
>lure of drugs
>threat of violence
Which can make them feel unworthy, defeated, angry, hopeless.
BUT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE HOPE, AND EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW JESUS-THE AUTHOR OF HOPE ITSELF.
