My Story…
Here we go! It's October, which means it's time for my annual ask for your support. I'm running the Scotiabank Hat Trick this year - a 1/2 Marathon, 10km, and 5km run. I am running in 2021 for my Mum and for all those impacted by Alzheimer's Disease. Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's after several years of being bounced around our medical system. Once she had the diagnosis,I leaned on the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto for support. I joined a support group where I learned more about the actual disease and different ways in which we could best support our Mum and ourselves. It wasn't easy losing my Mum to this disease. We miss her every day - her laughter, her poetry, and having her present in our lives. Running continues to be a space for me to remember my Mum and the amazing person she was. Please consider supporting the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto by sponsoring my run. They continue to support research and families impacted by this disease.
