My Story…
It's Thanksgiving weekend and, despite our continuing journey in "Pandemic Land", there's lots of room for gratitude. One of the things I am most thankful for this year is my new hip. It's been just over a year since my surgery. With help from family, friends, a wonderful surgeon and hospital team and an amazing physiotherapist, I have managed a very good recovery. Now I'm walking every day without pain and even doing yoga! To mark Thanksgiving and my first "hip anniversary", I'm participating in this year's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and would be grateful if you would help me make an impact through this decision.
First -- let me be clear -- I'm NOT running a marathon. I will be WALKING each day during the month of October. I am committing to walk a minimum of 5 km every day this month ....that's more than 155 kilometres. So far, I'm averaging more than 8.5 km per day, so my hope is to 'blow through' this distance as part of fundraising efforts on behalf of The Aninga Project. I hope you will give me encouragement through a donation!
