What's happening this year....
Colleen Lantz Memorial Run 4 Youth, along with the global community, has faced unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19. The safety and health of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and community is our foremost priority.
So for this year, we will again ask you to participate from home! Do the race around the block, on a school track, on a trail, on the beach....wherever you want. If you social distance, you might even want to encourage a friend or maybe a few friends if space and restrictions allow.
So, join us and

This event is for children age 10 years and younger. Get your parents, siblings or friends involved and create your very own 1 K course in your backyard, park or playground...brighten the corner where you are!

About Colleen Irene Lantz
Colleen Irene Lantz (nee Diemert) was a vibrant young woman originally from Neustadt, ON with a passion for fitness, which was only surpassed by her love for her family and for children. She had been planning to organize a local run in October 2007 with Alecia Lantz, Run 4 Youth Former Race Director. Their goal was to increase the health and fitness of the local communities while raising money for local organizations geared toward assisting children. On August 11, 2007 Colleen lost her life in a tragic automobile accident. Her six week old son and husband survived the accident.

All races are to be completed between Saturday, August 1, 2020 and Saturday, August 15, 2020

About our charities....
In the current climate, charities and nonprofits are facing tremendous challenges and are working hard to help their communities face the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Our chosen charities – WES For Youth Online and the Colleen Lantz Memorial Bursary are experiencing significant revenue losses and challenges as very few fundraising organizations have the cash reserves required to maintain their operations and sustain the important funding they provide to so many worthwhile causes.
WES For Youth Online is experiencing increased demand for the online services they provide, and have more than tripled the number of youth seeking mental health resources. The cost of providing services is also increasing, as volunteers self-isolate and extraordinary measures are taken to ensure the health and safety of the public. The current situation is jeopardizing organizations’ abilities to provide vital services.
The Colleen Lantz Memorial Bursary provides scholarships for students pursuing post secondary education in the fields of physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. With diminished earning opportunities in the current climate, the Bursary will assist youth in achieving their dreams and goals.
