Our story…

Hi Everyone Carter is my four-year-old son who was born with severe to profound hearing loss. We started teaching him American Sign Language at three months old. When Carter turned a year old, he was able to receive Cochlear Implants. He has was bilaterally implanted and has been learning to talk and use ASL ever since. He is also enrolled in the DHH program in Lemont, IL, where he attends the early education program among peers learning and growing just like him. In July of 2020, I was offered an opportunity to give back to the community that embraced my family and me with open arms. I took a position with the State of Illinois with the non-for-profit organization Illinois Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side. I work as a Parent Guide, and I mentor families in the Will County area with children born with hearing loss. I work to offer non-biased support and help assist in communication and amplification options, as well as provide several resources. This position has been an amazing experience and something I have become very passionate about doing.
If you were so kind as to consider donating to TEAM CARTER, Any amount would be greatly appreciated. It will help my organization, and I continue to support families like myself throughout the State.
Thank you in advance for your time and kindness

Sincerely,
The Esparza Family
