Event Description

This year marks the 43rd annual running of the Lampson Cable Bridge Run! Finisher Medals will again be given out to the first 2000 participants who finish the run. To receive your medal please ensure that your race bib is visible as you cross the finish line. So tell your friends and come out and enjoy this fun and exciting holiday tradition! Runners, no matter the distance they choose (1Mile, 5K, or 10K) will start their race crossing over the Columbia River from Kennewick to Pasco, WA on the scenic Cable Bridge. The 1 mile runners will end shortly after crossing the bridge and be shuttled to the 5K/10K finish area. The 5K & 10K finish line is located just outside the Lampson warehouse. Due to ongoing COVID restrictions, we are unable to use the Lampson Warehouse so there WILL BE NO FINISH LINE PARTY THIS YEAR. At the finish line you will receive your medal and refreshments before proceeding to catch the shuttle bus back to the fairground's parking lot.

There is a discounted, non-timed 1 mile fun run category for those that want to experience the fun and excitement of this yearly event, and still receive the finisher medal. Also there is a child 4 and under category that is free of charge. Participants in this category will receive a bib but will not be timed nor receive a finisher medal, instead they will receive a child's finisher ribbon.

For all timed race categories, timing chips are used and awards are given to the top participants in each age category. So if you are a competitive runner or someone who just wants to have fun walking with your friends, the Lampson Cable Bridge Run has what you are looking for.

We are also offering a virtual option this year, where you can run your own race, anytime, anywhere. No finisher medal guarantee for the virtual race, but if there are extra medals from the live race, you can grab one from Runner's Soul, during the week following the live race.

Last Chance Registration:

Friday, December 17, 2021, at packet pick-up only (an additional $5 late fee will be assessed) Onsite credit card payment registrations only during last chance registration at the Kiosks (Kiosks will be available during Pre-Race Packet Pick-up at the Neil F. Lampson Office Building, 607 E. Columbia Dr., Kennewick. CREDIT CARDS ONLY!)

Packet Pickup

Race Packet Pickup will take place at two separate locations on Friday and Saturday (see locations below). We strongly encourage runners to attend the Friday packet pick-up to make your race morning less stressful. At packet pickup you will be able to retrieve your race bib and your shirt (if applicable).

Race packet pickup times are as follows:

  1. Prerace Packet Pickup: Friday, December 17 from 12:00 - 7:00 pm at Pasco City Hall Gym, 525 North 3rd Ave. (Parking lot located off of Sylvester Ave behind the building. follow signs to gym entrance).
  2. Race day Packet Pickup: Saturday, December 18 from 7:00 - 8:30 am at Lampson Office Building, outside. (Look for signage indicating Packet Pickup).

Shuttle Bus Important Information

Shuttle Bus Services to the Event (Provided in Partnership with Ben Franklin Transit):

  • Shuttle services from the fairgrounds will begin at 7:00am. Last shuttle at 8:30am
  • Shuttle services for runners is included with the entry fee.

Shuttle Bus Services after the Race:

  • Shuttles will run from the 1 mile Finish to Lampson Shop (5K/10K finish) starting at approximately 9:30am
  • Shuttles will take runners from Lampson Shop back to the fairgrounds beginning at 10:00am.
  • Please note that the Last Shuttle back to the Fairgrounds leaves at 11:30am

Virtual Run Details

Important Note for Virtual Participants: The deadline for submitting virtual race results has been extended to the end of the year 12/31/2021. Together with this change, those that were signed up to participate at the in-person event but for one reason or another were unable to make it, may be transferred to the virtual run and submit their results and still earn this year's finishers medal. To transfer your registration to the virtual run email kubalekb@pasco-wa.gov.

NEW! - SECOND CHANCE VIRTUAL RUN: We have opened a second chance virtual run option for new participants. Register now until December 30. The run must be completed by December 31. Finisher Medals for Second Chance Virtual runners will be available for pickup at Runners Soul in Kennewick starting on January 4.

Virtual race participants will sign up for the virtual run category. Participants must complete either a 10k (6.2 miles), 5k (3.1miles), or a 1 mile distance between 12/13 and 12/26 12/31. Instructions on how to post results will be emailed to you before the event. All virtual race packets (bib number and shirt if ordered) will be sent in the mail. No finisher medal guarantee for the virtual race, but if there are extra medals from the live race, you can grab one from Runner's Soul, during the week following the live race.


Tracking Your Run:
Make your virtual run tracking easy by using the Asics RunKeeper app for automated results posting. You can download the app on your smartphone for free through the app store. If you prefer to use your own device (apple watch, garmin, or other tracking device), you can still post your results to our results website by logging in after your run. Participants will be sent instructions through your email on how to post results using either the RunKeeper app or logging in through the results website.

Shirts

*Participants will have the choice of purchasing either a cotton/poly long-sleeved t-shirt ($7) OR a long-sleeved technical t-shirt ($9) with their registration. On Friday, December 17, during Last Chance Registration, shirts will be sold on an availability only basis.
