As we prepare for a safe, healthy, and FUN race for all of our runners, we made the decision to close registration early. We will NOT be offering day-of registration. We look forward to seeing over 500 runners on September 18th!!!

Distance: 1 MILE and 5K RUN/WALK options for all ages and experience
This family-friendly event has something for everyone:
- A 5K through the beautiful streets of Park Ridge for those who love to run
- A 1 mile walk/run for those who want to get out and get a little exercise and a breath of fresh air
- For our youngest runners, we have short kids races (and every kid will get a medal!!)
It is a great morning for anyone who wants to help support kids as they travel to cancer treatment. All childhood cancer survivors, both young and old, register for free and will be honored before the race begins.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your children. And run through the beautiful streets of Park Ridge to help kids on their cancer journeys.
HONOR WALL for Survivors & Angels: This is a great opportunity to celebrate all childhood cancer survivors and angels. Survivors register for free. We encourage family and friends to bring a photo of any survivor or angel to be displayed on our HONOR WALL.
RACE HERO: This year we are honored to introduce you to this year's Race Hero, Molly! Molly is a 6 year old Chicago resident braving stage 4 kidney cancer.

Awards: Finisher medals will be added to the swag bag during pick-up due to COVID regulations

Kids Races: In addition, we will hold short kids races before the race kicks off for any kid 7 and under who would like to participate. No need to register. Just listen for an announcement before the race to line up for the fun!

We need your help raising additional funds for kids with cancer. Though certainly not mandatory, we encourage each participant become a FUN-raiser by setting a personal fundraising goal to raise funds for our kids.

Meet Molly
In early May, Molly felt pain in her side and went to the doctor for X-rays where doctors found a tumor in her kidney. A day later, six year old Molly was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. On May 27th, Molly underwent surgery at Lurie's Children Hospital in Chicago. The surgeon removed Molly's tumor, kidney, and affected lymph nodes.
Since Molly's surgery, she has already undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy and will be treated with radiation.
The entire Northwest Side of Chicago and surrounding neighborhoods have come together for Molly, her parents Jon and Erin, and her sister Annie. Our goal at Compass to Care is to take away some of the stress families feel while getting their child to and from the hospital for treatment. Together, we can make Molly's journey, and other children braving cancer, a little easier on their families.
What's in the Swag Bag?
It is all about the swag! Each participant registered for the 5K will get a super stylish race shirt designed by Molly, a really cool drawstring bag, and your very own finisher medal to show off your awesomeness.
Packet Pick-Up
We are giving individuals who live near the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago an option to pick up their packets for the Annual 5K in person. Packet pick up will be held the week of September 13th. Location will be set and participants will be notified.

Compass to C
are was founded in 2010 by Park Ridge, IL resident, Michelle Ernsdorff-May. When Michelle was just 14 months old she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Her parents struggled to pay for the travel expenses necessary to get her to cancer treatment. She founded Compass to Care, in her parents' honor, to help parents pay for the necessary travel expenses to get their children to cancer treatment.
Compass to Care has helped children with cancer travel over 2.4 million miles to access life-saving cancer treatment. By joining the 5K, you will allow them to help even more.
