BlazeSports Run, Roll and Row 5K

and 1k Fun Run

BlazeSports is pleased to present our 2nd Annual Run, Roll & Row 5K. The event is inclusive of all abilities and includes an adaptive division.

BlazeSports, the legacy of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, is one of the very few organizations in Metro Atlanta providing access to adaptive sports and recreation for children, youth and veterans with disabilities for nearly 25 years. The purpose of this 5K is to raise awareness of BlazeSports programs and services. All proceeds will be used to support youth & veteran adaptive sport programs, training & education activities, youth leadership and development and other athlete support.

As of today, the race will be taking place virtually only. Approximately 40% of our race participants were already signed up for the virtual run and over the past several days we have had participants request to move their entry to the virtual option. With recent news from the CDC, we do not feel we will have enough live participants to move forward with that portion of the event. In addition, it is important for BlazeSports to continue to lead the way in safe gatherings.

The good news is that the race is still on in virtual form as it was last year. Individuals and teams can select their favorite routes and start times and look out for chances to win some fun prizes along the way. We encourage you all to gather in small groups, run, walk and roll together and send us your times to be eligible for prizes.

Virtual Time Submission

You will be able to submit your 5K time anytime between Wednesday, August 4th and Sunday, August 8th at 8:00pm in order to be eligible for prizes. Please follow all of the steps below in order to be included in the results.

  • Run, roll or walk a 5K/1K anywhere - even on a treadmill.
  • Take a picture of your time/distance. It can be through Strava, Garmin, Mapmyrun, or even a picture of your watch or treadmill display. As long as we can see your distance / time, you are good.
  • Email your proof to runningmanwest@bellsouth.net prior to August 8th at 8:00pm. Times submitted after this time will not count. Please include your full name in the email.

***VERY IMPORTANT*** In the subject line of your email, please put "BlazeSports 5K Results Submission" This will help us know which event you are participating in.

Race Results

Race Results will be posted on race website and BlazeSports website on Monday, August 9th at 6:00pm.

To be entered into any of these contests, post your image to Instagram or Facebook and make sure you tag us @blazesportsamerica on Instagram and @blazesports on Facebook. You can also email us your photo and the name of the contest you are submitting for to dchuri@blazesports.org
