My Story…
Please consider donating to Run for ALD. My team is Champions for Chaz, meaning anyone who donates (or joins the team!) is a champion for Chaz, as well as all the other boys diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). As a rare disease, there is little funding or fundraising. My son Chaz was diagnosed his senior year of high school. He is now a senior at Michigan Technological University, majoring in biomedical engineering. The disease has affected his spinal column and has limited his ability to walk. This fundraiser directly benefits the ALD Research Fund at the University of Minnesota where Chaz goes for annual doctor appointments and tests.
I pledge to walk a mile, which sounds easy for most; but for me (and Chaz) is not easy. I have had seven orthopedic surgeries on my spine and hip since 2017 and had my fourth hip replacement this year. Despite my current limitations, I hope to be able to walk a mile on November 20th without using my walker, but I can’t promise I won’t need a cane! BIG thanks in advance for any donations.
Donate to help Melissa raise money for Run for ALD, Cure the Boys’s fundraising campaign.
