WEST COAST TRAIL VIRTUAL CHALLENGE
Experience the West Coast Trail by completing a virtual fitness challenge with a team of friends.
During the West Coast Trail virtual team challenge your team of 1 – 4 people will work together and take a 75 km (47 mi) journey along one of the most popular/scenic hikes in the world!
Use Virtual Baton App to manage your team and add distance.
Each time anyone on your team runs, walks, or hikes your team advances along an interactive map towards the finish.
Your team members can be located anywhere in the world!
Unlock special badges and earn an embroidered finisher’s patch as you make your way along the trail.
This challenge is FREE to join, your team can start anytime!
Finisher Patch
Finish the course to get a special code that you can use to receive a free custom finisher’s patch (just pay shipping & handling).
The West Coast Trail finishers patches are 3″ embroidered fabric patches with an iron on backing.
Finisher patches will begin shipping in late June
Unlock Digital Badges
Your team earns digital badges when you reach certain milestones along the trail.
Full size digital badges get emailed to your team as you advance along the course.
Virtually Travel the West Coast Trail
Watch your team move along an interactive map. View your team’s position on the course, and explore your virtual surroundings with Google Street View.
Every time you add distance you team moves along the map. It’s like you’re really there!
How it Works
Your team will use Virtual Baton app to complete the West Coast Trail team challenge
Use the app to manage, and interact with your team, and watch your team move along the course.
There are two ways to add distance during the challenge:
- Add distance (or steps) manually using the Virtual Baton App manual uploading tool
- Connect Virtual Baton App with a supported fitness tracking app
Register for the event, and put together a team of 1 - 4 people. Your team members can be located anywhere in the world!
Run, walk, hike, or hit the treadmill. Use Virtual Baton App to add your distance to your team total.
Follow your team’s progress on the leaderboard and on an interactive map to watch your team move along the course.
Complete the goal distance to unlock your special iron-on embroidered finisher's patch!
The Course
The West Coast Trail virtual challenge covers a total of 75 km (47 mi).
Your teams starts at the south end of the trail in Port Renfrew and completes the entire length of the trail finishing at the northern end in Pachena Bay.
Entry
Team Entry - FREE
Basic team entry includes:
- Entry for one team of up to four runners
- Digital challenge badges
- Embroidered iron-on finisher's patch (just pay shipping & handling)
- A complete virtual race experience with friends
Only one person needs to register per team. Within 48 hours of registering you will receive a confirmation email with a team code that you can use to add people to your team.
