32nd Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Run and Family Stroll
presented by T-Mobile
Join other families as they participate in the Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll presented by T-Mobile. The 2021 run will be at the same location under a NEW name: Aspiria (6200 Sprint Pkwy, Overland Park, KS 66211).
This race benefits the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation and WIN for KC and 100% of the proceeds generated will fund our mission of making a better Kansas City through sports by attracting major events such as the 2023 NFL Draft and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In consultation with local city and health officials, the Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll presented by T-Mobile will be held in person with COVID-19 restrictions in place. We understand there is still uncertainty surrounding live events in 2021, and have provided the following options for registered participants.
If participant wishes to cancel their entry, they may choose any of the options below:
- Participate virtually and receive your race packet by mail
- Defer your registration to 2022 at no charge
- Transfer your registration to another participant for a small fee
If the event is cancelled by race organizers due to COVID-19 restrictions, runners have the option to:

In order to protect our participants and ensure a safe event, each individual participating in this event must be officially registered under his or her own name with accurate personal information. Failure to do so will void the registration and prohibit participation. Registration fees are non-refundable in all cases regardless of inability to participate or event cancellation. The race director reserves the right to cancel the event because of weather, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances which pose a significant danger to the participants.

It is strongly recommended that you pre-register and pick up your packet early to avoid a long line on race day and potentially miss the start of the race.
Strollers Welcome
The Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll presented by T-Mobile is one of the few road events in Kansas City that will officially allow strollers. For the safety of all participants, all strollers must line up in the back of the starting chute.
Note: No motorized vehicles, roller blades, bikes or dogs will be allowed on the course. Protection will be provided at all intersections by the Overland Park, KS police department and/or volunteers.
