Lost-n-Found Youth

Raise money for Lost-n-Found Youth

Since 2011,  Lost-n-FoundYouth(LnFY),has been dedicated to transitioning homeless LGBTQ+ youth off the street and into more permanent housing. On any given night, there are approximately 3,374 young people sleeping on the streets of Atlanta. While LGBTQ+ people represent about five percent of the general population of teens and young adults, they make up 28 percent of Atlanta’s homeless individuals in the same age range, leaving over  950  LGBTQ+ youth on the streets of Atlanta every night. Many are homeless because they’ve been victims of family rejection and/or abuse after coming out.

In 2018 alone, LnFY aided more than 1,000 homeless youth, served more than 17,000 meals, provided 2,688 nights in warm beds and handed out more than 300 tents, 500 blankets and 300 coats to those in need.

We provide emergency beds at our Youth Center and Transitional beds at our house. The transitional house allows Youth to stay and readjust to having a home for up to 6 months. We help youth find jobs, complete their education, obtain birth certificates and identification, connect them with available medical and other services.

All of this is accomplished largely with the proceeds from the Lost-n-Found Thrift Store, grants, and donations from individuals.

Lost-n-Found Youth is a registered 501(c)3 organization with the U.S. Department of Revenue, Tax ID Number is 45-4153322.
