Directions: The East Pavilion off east Parkway not off Poplar. If you are coming down Sam Cooper get in the outside left turn lane take a left. Take the 1st right, if you miss it take the 2nd rt. If you pass the fire station youve gone too far. Turn around and try again. Large parking area around the pavilion. There will be signs out at both entrances. I will try and post the pin on FB.

Our Live Event is Saturday October 9th at 8 am. Come walk or run 3.1 miles around beautiful Overton Park at the East Park way Pavilion. Our top 3 finishers in each age group will earn a Mutt Strut 5k Medal.
**This year each participant will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and a Mutt Strut 5k dog tag. In order to guarantee a t-shirt by race day you must sign up prior to September 15th. All Proceeds go directly to the care of the dogs.
We know the Delta variant of Covid 19 may have you hesitant to participate in a live race. Let me assure you we will be doing everything we can to make the 2021 Mutt Strut 5K a SAFE LIVE race.
Some of the safety precautions we will be taking are:
- Social distancing will be encouraged whenever possible
- Encouraging all attendees to wear masks before and after the race
- EXTENDING start time 10 minutes {8:00-8:10 a.m.} Your time will be accurate due to timing bibs
- free MEDICAL Grade face masks available
- disposable gloves and plenty sanitizer available
- individual registration, packet pick up, self service kiosk, t-shirt and food tables spaced 6' apart.
- self service food tables with whole fruit and wrapped treats
- 2 tables at each water station
- medals awarded without physical contact
- and more as we think of more ways to be safe
Our virtual 5k Event takes place from October 11th through October 31st. Registration is now open. Participate from anywhere using the RunKeeper app or manually enter your results and attach a screenshot of your time.

Dogs 2nd Chance is a local mid south dog rescue group, saving abandoned, abused and stray dogs since September 2007.

Race day registration and packet pickup will begin at Overton Park at 6:30am and close at 7:59 am.
