What is the deadline to register?
For participants within Canada, it is suggested that you register before October 1st to receive the participant package in time. Participants outside of Canada will need to register by September 15th to receive the R2EP participant package in time.
Is this donation tax-deductible?
Engineers Without Borders Canada is a recognized charitable organization with a charitable registration number 89980-1815-RR0001. Engineers Without Borders Canada provides tax receipts for donations $20 and above. We thank you for your patience and understanding with regard to your tax receipt. You can expect to receive your tax receipt once the event has concluded.
What does my entry fee pay for?
Your entry fee is 100% tax-deductible and is used to help facilitate the administration costs associated with the event so more donation dollars can go to our programs. In addition, you will receive the R2EP participant package with your registration that includes the R2EP T-Shirt along with many other great sponsor offerings.
Where do my donations go?
The proceeds from this year’s Run 2 End Poverty will be used towards EWB programming that supports in finding permanent solutions for problems caused by climate change. From the EWB chapter team donations, 70% will go to the project in most need. The other 30% of EWB chapter team donations will be allocated to your chapter fund that will be used to fund projects related to environmental sustainability throughout the 2021/2022 school year.
What if I am no longer able to participate?
The best part about a virtual run is that you get to determine what it looks like. Maybe you change the length of what you planned or if you want to do it a day early and post photos on the day of! Make it work for your schedule!
Can I post photos after the race?
Yes! We encourage you to share your training and run experience! Upload your pictures to the gallery on the event page and share them with us on social media, or directly share them on Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter using the hashtags #StepUpForTheEnviornment #R2EP2021 #EWBCanada.
Is there a minimum age to register for the run?
To register for the Run 2 End Poverty you must be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age of majority where you reside if that jurisdiction has an older age of majority. If you are under 18, you are allowed to participate with your parent’s or guardian’s permission and supervision, but will not be able to create your own account.
Where are the R2EP t-shirts printed?
It is important to EWB to support local businesses, and thus we are excited to be working with a women-led organization based locally in Toronto to print the R2EP participant t-shirts.
How can I register for a race?
You are not required to sign up for a specific race. Your registration for the R2EP allows you to take part in as many races as you wish. Simply track your times and upload your results for the disciplines you have chosen to participate in through the “Upload your results” tab.
How do I track my race time and upload my results?
There are two different ways for you to track your participation. You can either use the Runkeeper App to record and upload your participation, or you can manually post your results. Please refer to the “How to track participation and submit results” page for step-by-step instructions.
How can I pay for the registration for all team members?
If you would like to pay for the registration of other participants but do not have all of their personal information required to fill in the registration form, you have the option to buy other participants’ registration as a gift. They will receive a ‘unique code’ and can sign up for the event using the code. Please see further details outlined in the two questions below.
What does “gift the registration fee” mean?
The ‘gift the registration fee’ feature provides the options to buy registration codes for your friends, family members, or colleagues. You will receive a code that you can pass along to a special someone and they will be able to use the code to register for the R2EP. This feature may also be useful if you wish to pay for the registration of your whole team, but would like each participant to go through the registration process themselves.
I have received a gift registration, how can I redeem it?
With your email or PDF confirmation you would have received a long alphanumeric code. This is the code you will need to get access to your registration. On the event page navigate to the left hand side and click the “Gift the registration fee” button. On the new page that opens up, you will see a “Redeem a Gift” button on the right side of the middle section. Click that button and enter your Gift code in the field and confirm by clicking the “Redeem code now” button. Once you click that button you will be prompted to fill out the registration form as usual and all you have to do is follow the steps until you get to the final checkout page where you can “Submit Order” to complete the registration process.
I live in an apartment unit, how do I enter my address?
You can add any additions to your address such as your apartment unit on the same line as your street address. If your shipping address is different from your mailing address, you have the option to enter a different shipping address where you have an extra line to give more detailed information about your address.
