This race is a huge fundraiser for the Elgin Eco Association (EEA) with proceeds going towards community programs such as the Kids Summer Camp. The dedicated volunteers of the community are members who, through eco-tourism and local events, work to promote the Elgin area.
Located 10 km north of Fundy National Park, Elgin is in the heart of the Southern Highlands of New Brunswick; a region replete with beautiful views of rolling hills, field, forest and the popular Pollet River. Cyclists will be converging here on race day from all over the Maritime Provinces for the opportunity of pitting ones' athletic ability against this magnificent terrain.
Touted as being the toughest mountain bike race in Atlantic Canada, the Tour of Elgin will afford the racer an exceptional outdoor experience during the peak of the fall colours!
Well-marked courses will cover different types of surfaces with limited pavement:
- double track (40%),
- dirt roads (30%)
- and lots of fast flowy single track (30%)
The climbs are awesome (some as high as 1100 ft), frequent, and riders can expect course levels to challenge all levels of mountain bike skills in the 120 Km, 80 Km, 40 Km, or 20 Km.
All-terrain support vehicles will sweep racers providing first aid on site.
**PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - Important Information. **
The EEA is dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of all our racers. If we move back into yellow, COVID precautions will be put into place. Updates will made below, so return as needed.

Only top 25 finishers get a BELT BUCKLE! For the toughest and fittest of them all, we dare you to try this incredible feat of endurance and ability covering three loops with limited overlap. Of course you can expect that last killer climb for the end again. Sounds like the course will be a 38k loop, a 42k loop and a 35k loop. The trail-makers said to expect lots of climbing. :) But don't worry too much, there will be water stops at approx 25K, 60K and 100K.
