My Story…
Thank you for all of your support!
This will be my 2nd year participating in the 24 Hours of Heroes event and I am so excited! Last year the adrenaline was pumping, the emotions were flowing and the hail was smashing us in the face during the final and most grueling workout, McLaren, in honour of a fallen Canadian soldier, Corporal Mark McLaren. I hold this event very near and dear to my heart as I also struggle everyday with C-PTSD, and use fitness every day as a means of therapy. I also come from a family of service men and women in Newfoundland, one of them living with PTSD themselves. I cannot thank 24 Hours of Heroes, Wounded Warriors, and all of its participants and sponsors enough for everything they do for those in need of service dogs.
This year I will be participating in "Stalker of the Seas" on Saturday which is dedicated to the brave Canadians who gave their lives in the line of duty during NATO exercises off the coast of Greece on April 29, 2020. On Sunday I will be doing "Heidi" which is dedicated to Constable Heidi Stevenson who lost her life on April 19 2020 in the Nova Scotia shooting (and who knows, I may add in another one or two for some extra spice!)
Thank you everyone for your continued support each year! It means the world to myself and everyone at Aduro Athletics in Woodstock!
