Bookwalter Binge Gran Fondo
Saturday October 30, 2021
Join Brent Bookwalter for a pop-up style Bookwalter Binge Gran Fondo. The Pop-Up Binge, aka The PUB, will offer a variety of routes to choose from with tough climbs that provide an epic challenge to all. A perfect way to celebrate the end of the professional cycling racing season, and the end of a professional cycling career, by riding the routes Brent used for training earlier in the year.
Multiple routes of varying length traverse some of the most beautiful roads and trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Brent’s home in Asheville, North Carolina. Route options, including gravel, road, mixed terrain and single-track, will be distributed shortly before ride day and riders will be allowed to pick one or more routes to enjoy.
This is an unusual opportunity to celebrate the end of Brent’s racing career together as Bingers.
Choose your departure time and when the spinning is done, visit the Kitsbow Old Fort Ride House for a free craft beer.
Then, get ready to celebrate at the One Six Dun Party, hosted by Creekside Taphouse in Asheville, to celebrate the end of Brent’s professional racing career and usher in the Next Chapter for the Bookwalters. Great food & craft beer, the Binger community together again. Just what the soul needs.

Binge Vaccination/Negative Test Plan
As founders and organizers of the Bookwalter Binge, we care about your safety and we’ve adopted safety protocols for the TuneUp, the Pop Up Binge and the One Six Dun Party.
We pride ourselves on hosting a safe and fun event. In the interest of safety for all participants, and at the recommendation of public health officials, participants of all activities held indoors must provide either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours of participation.
This requirement applies to the TuneUp Ride & Lunch and the One Six Dun Party. Do not purchase tickets to either of these two events if you cannot comply with this requirement.
Daily we are studying CDC guidelines and monitoring state and local health official updates and we appreciate in advance the patience and support of all participants. Our protocols will be posted here and are subject to change as necessary or directed.
Binge Safety Protocols
The past 18+ months have taught us that this isn’t our circus, but we must try to herd the monkeys. These are the current guidelines and they can change at any time.
General Protocols
For all activities, the following protocols apply:
Distancing - We ask all participants to be considerate of your neighbor and to provide plenty of space while enjoying the event.
Elbow Bump - Hey, the elbow bump has its own Wikipedia page. It’s a thing...use it!
Hand Washing - By now, you know the drill. Lather well, take your time, rinse. Repeat often.
Masks - While most of the fun is held outdoors, there will be times when you will enter a building and you will be required to wear a mask. This includes the PUB check-in station at the Kitsbow Ride House. We strongly encourage folks to wear a mask in areas of a high concentration of people even if you are vaccinated and even if you are outdoors.
Vaccination/Negative Covid 19 Test presentation for Participation
Activities Held Indoors
All attendees and participants will be required to show one of the following 2 options to participate in all activities held indoors:

OR
- Negative Test Results - If you have not been vaccinated or do not have a vaccination card, you must show a printed or digital copy of a negative Covid 19 test performed on you within 72 hours of the time of entry.
The protocols for Activities Held Indoors apply to the TuneUp Ride & Lunch and the One Six Done Party. Do not purchase tickets to either of these two events if you cannot comply with this requirement.
Activities Held Outdoor
Participants who are not fully vaccinated may participate in the Pop Up Binge rides while following all General Protocols.
Our protocols are subject to change as necessary or directed.
