This is a virtual charity race with donations going to Honouring Indigenous People Charity.
We chose this charity because of the recent discovery of numerous unmarked graves of indigenous children that were taken from their home and did not return. This race is set for 30 September 2021 to coincide with orange shirt day, a day in Canada where school age children wear an orange shirt to honour indigenous children that were taken from their families and sent to residential schools.
This is a family friendly race. Race by yourself or with your family. There is a 1 km and a 5 km race.
You can submit your race any day from 25 September 2021 to 2 October 2021.
You will be directed to create a run keeper account (a free app) that will automatically show your standing at the end of the race once you submit your time.
Alternatively you can manually submit your time if you prefer to use another app to track you race.
It is free to participate but encouraged to donate to Honouring Indigenous People at this link https://www.gofundme.com/f/race-for-charity-honouring-indigenous-people?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
