2021 CINNAMON BUN FUN RUN - Virtual 5K and 10K

The Cinnamon Bun Fun Run - Virtual 5K Run / Walk and 10K Run is presented by the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association (LRCA).

This year, the Cinnamon Bun Fun Run is a virtual charity walk/run that promotes healthy outdoor family activity before the holiday season and also provides some much needed resources to the LRCA and its many programs. The event will feature a VIRTUAL 5K RUN/WALK and a VIRTUAL 10K RUN. Price for registration this year is $10/adult (13 and over) and $5/child (12 and under). All proceeds benefit the LRCA!

We unfortunately cannot operate a 'predicted finishing time' for participants like we have done in past years, but we anticipate runners and walkers will enjoy getting outside with family, engaging in some exercise and enjoying some delicious treats. Yes, treats! We are proud to report that all participants will receive the limited edition "Cinnamon Bun Fun Run COOKIE" from the Old Town Bakery in Ladysmith. Yes, Old Town continues to jam their delicious cinnamon buns into a cookie! You must be registered for a virtual event to receive these delicious treats.

We thank you in advance as we aim to make this an enjoyable "virtual" family event that ensures the health and safety of Cinnamon Bun Fun Run participants and our volunteers, while also raising awareness and resources for the LRCA. Just email your result and a picture to rick@lrca.ca to show you braved the weather to complete your self-directed run.

START TIME

You choose your start time and on the date that works best for you! You just need to complete your virtual event at any point prior to Nov. 28 2021.

ROUTE

You chose your route! We have made the previous Cinnamon Bun Fun Run route available for anyone that would like to stick to tradition :)

REGISTRATION LIMIT

The Cinnamon Bun Fun Run Virtual 5K Run / Walk and 10K Run event will be limited to a maximum capacity of 600 registrants. In previous years this event has sold out quickly.

YOUTH REGISTRANTS

In years past, registrants under the age of 13 on the day of the race have had their registration discounted on the payment step. This year those participants will receive a $5 discount.

RESULTS

You can complete your virtual run or walk at any point between when you register to Nov. 28, 2021. Remember to track your run or walk with a device. Save a screenshot of your run or walk so you can email to rick@lrca.ca. Once you have uploaded your results then you are ready to nab some Cinnamon Bun Fun Run Cookies :) Please note that the results can only be uploaded between Nov. 25- 28, 2021.

HOW DO I GET MY CINNAMON BUN FUN RUN COOKIE?!

Perhaps the most important question of all! You've set up a 5K or 10K route and you've even tracked your run / walk. You emailed rick@lrca.ca with a picture to prove you participated. Now you're dreaming of those limited edition Cinnamon Bun Fun Run Cookies from Old Town Bakery!
The LRCA staff have a master list of all participants and will gladly provide you with your yummy (and well deserved) cookie. Cookies will be available from Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting on Nov. 29, 2021 and ending Dec. 2, 2021 at the lower parking lot entrance to the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association building (Address: 630 2nd Avenue, Ladysmith, BC).
