Run for A rose
**New Date; Friday 3rd June 2022**
Welcome to the inaugural Run for A Rose 10k event.
This event is in memory of the dearly loved and missed Angela Rose.
All the profits of this event will be split between St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich and Macmillan Cancer Support.
These charities provided fantastic care and support for Angela, her family and countless other people living with progressive and terminal illnesses.
Registration.
The registration desk near the race start will be open from 8.30am where race numbers and chips should be collected. Please note race numbers and chips will not be sent out in the post prior to the event.
Start times.
9:45am wheelchair athletes.
10:0am main field.
The Race.
This will be a chip timed event on a predominantly flat course.
The majority of the surface is tarmac with a couple of small sections of concrete. Ideal for wheelchair and mixed ability athletes.
The route will take you three quarters of the way up the runway, a right U turn to bring you back down the taxi way parallel, another U-turn taking you back along the full length of the runway, right turn at the far end that then takes you through the hanger complex, out the other side to a left turn back down the taxi-way and onto the final U-turn up to the finish line.
Medals and Prize giving.
All participants will receive a bespoke medal.
The presentation of prizes will take place between 11:30 and 11:45am subject to getting the results from the chip timer. Only prizes for the first 3 men, women and wheelchair athletes over the line will be awarded.
Getting there.
Your best option is by car.
Please use the Rock Barracks entrance off the Heath Road heading to Hollesley.

When you turn off Heath Road into Rock Barracks head straight, you will come to the gates to the airfield. A marshal or sign will point you through the correct gates. From here you will be directed to the car park.
I believe there is a bus service that runs from Melton train station to Orford and back that stops outside Rock Barracks but you will need to look up the timetable and service if you wish to use this option.
Bag Drop.
There is NO BAG DROP.
The car park is close enough to the start line that this service is not required.
Water.
Keeping in line with more and more races that are reducing the plastic waste this event will be cupless.
Bring your own cup or bottle.
Water will be available via a bowser.

Refunds. There will be no refunds if this event has to be postponed again do to any outside restrictions. All entries will be carried over to a new date.
No dogs are allowed in the race or anywhere on the M.O.D. Land. Anyone with dogs in their car will be turn away at he main gate. This is as strict rule of use by the M.O.D.
