My Story…
Hello and welcome to my page!
Being given the opportunity to intern at JACS this summer is an experience I will never forget. Being able to see how the team operates from the inside has shown me the importance of communication, compromise, and respect amongst co-workers. Working one-on-one with various staff members has taught me so much about addiction and mental health and also how an organization should run. While looking at the inner workings of this vital organization, I truly became aware of the need of this life saving program for the community.
COVID-19 not only exacerbated pre-existing mental health and addiction issues, but also caused these issues in individuals that did not suffer from them prior to the pandemic. At the start of COVID-19, JACS converted its services to online within 48 hours as they saw the pressing need to support individuals struggling. Within the past two years, JACS has seen a 566% increase in the number of clients who have attended its facilitated group programs alone.
With the growing needs of the community, JACS requires yours support in order to continue to save lives, support families, and strengthen communities.
